By your respect I briefly like to introduce my, better to say our team\'s tasks, in circumstance with the project.\\\\nThe 70 km long DB Project Stuttgart - Ulm (DB PSU) High Speed Railway Line crosses the Swabian Alb Highlands by climbing up from Stuttgart\'s suburb Wendlingen while passing 4 Tunnels through Upper Triassic and Black, Brown and White Jurassic Formations to the Swabian Alb Plateau of around 700 m, continues in White Jurassic Kimmeridge Layers including extremely carstified Reef Limestone blocks and finally steps down by passing the Alb Declining Tunnel to Ulm in the Danube\'s Valley.\\\\n\\\\nOur FUGRO\'s Team of Geophysicists and Geotechnical Engineers is engaged in the 16 km long Section PFA 2.3 between Merklingen and Dornstadt to detect karst cavities, ditches and holes by gravimetric and seismic measurements, targeted borings, cross-hole and down-hole tomographic as far as camera and cavity laser scanning and to establish methods for effective carst remediation / cavity filling.\\\\n\\\\nAfterwards foundation types are to allocate for several track sections of embankments and cuts and even for bridges (railway and road overpasses), tunnels and other built-in parts, like culverts.\\\\nAfter successful carst remediation the track sections are to found\\\\n- mostly on embankments (heights between 5 - 12 m), founded on up to 3 m soil substitution layers of well bearing crushed limestone\\\\n- partly by pile foundations by penetrating deep loess filled carst ditches/canyons to be based/footed in solid rock (with upper construction of high exposed steel concrete plates or even trough constructions with residual embankment layers inside)\\\\n\\\\nIn summary we can say, that our Team of FUGRO\'s DB PSU subsidiary, based in Blaubeuren close to Ulm, provides all needed geophysical, geological and geotechnical services including conceptual foundation design for the successful railroad track achievement in the 16 km long sections of our contractors ARGE BUNTE/STUTZ and STRABAG in PFA 2.3.\\\\n\\\\n
