Established on June 30, 1953, by Dr. TMA Pai, Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Manipal, holds the distinction of being the first self-financing medical college in India\'s private sector. What began on a barren hillock has transformed into a vibrant, environmentally friendly university town. To fulfill the need for a dedicated teaching facility, Kasturba Hospital was established in May 1961, starting with just 150 beds. Today, it has grown into an NABH-accredited, 2,032-bed premier teaching hospital equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic departments, serving as the clinical cornerstone for our students and the community. As a proud constituent college of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), KMC Manipal provides one of the finest learning environments in South Asia. We have consistently been ranked among the top ten medical colleges in the country.
