ABOUT RAKSHITA CHAUHAN

My name is Rakshita Chauhan, and I am currently in my fifth year of law school and interning at Reliance Industries Limited. I began my legal journey at Amity Law School, where I actively participated in various curricular and co-curricular activities, including moot court competitions, moot proposition drafting competitions, and serving as a member of the organizing committee for moot court competitions. I was also an active member of the Law Wale Club, which helped strengthen my teamwork and leadership skills.Alongside academics, I have gained diverse practical exposure through multiple internships. My experience includes NGO internships, court internships at the District Court and the Supreme Court of India, and internships with well-established law firms such as Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, Phoenix Legal and Imperial Law offices.Through these experiences, I have developed strong skills in Legal Research, Communication, Commercial Awareness, Contract Drafting and Review, Contract Negotiation, Commercial Contracting, and Banking and Finance Documentation, with a particular interest in the Banking and Finance practice area.During my internship at Phoenix Legal, I worked closely with associates on banking and finance matters. This was a hands-on experience where I learned directly from practicing lawyers, gaining practical insights into transactional drafting, attention to detail, and legal awareness. Regular interactions with associates helped me understand the realities of legal practice beyond theory. This experience was pivotal in reinforcing my decision to pursue a long-term career in law.In addition to formal internships, I proactively reached out to lawyers on LinkedIn to gain real-world insights into the profession. These conversations helped me develop a realistic understanding of what lawyers do and the skills truly valued in the legal field including analytical rigor, attention to detail, teamwork, and effective client communication across sectors.I am keen to continue building my career in Banking and Finance, Commercial contracts and Corporate Compliance.
