About Rakib Anam
Rakib Anam is a Bangladeshi-American technologist, youth diplomat, and public speaker working at the intersection of AI, sustainability, and global governance. As Chairperson of the UNA Youth Group under the United Nations Foundation, he leads national youth mobilization and international advocacy on behalf of a member network. He launched and directed the AI for SDGs campaign, a 17-week youth-led research initiative that convened over 50 speakers – from UN officials to civic entrepreneurs – and gathered insights from over 500 UNA-USA and UN Civil Society members. These grassroots contributions shaped the AI for SDGs white paper, spotlighting youth perspectives on AI’s role across all 17 Sustainable Development Goals.Rakib is a founding member of Climate Cardinals, the world’s largest youth-led climate organization. He helped design and develop the organization’s digital platforms, engaging volunteers across 130+ countries and translating 3 million words of climate research into 100+ languages. These efforts – developed in collaboration with Google, UNESCO, and UNICEF – have reached over 11 million people globally. Rakib now serves as an advisor to the executive team, supporting innovation and youth leadership in climate advocacy.A recent graduate of Penn State University, Rakib brings experience across the defense intelligence and fintech sectors and has spoken on global stages, including the United Nations, Harvard University, and Web Summit. He’s focused on building systems, stories, and spaces where the youth don’t just have a seat at the table – they are the architects of the future.
