About Rakesh K.
I’m a third-year medical student at UTHealth McGovern Medical School. My research explores cardiovascular outcomes in Turner Syndrome patients with thoracic aortic aneurysms. I also contribute to a pilot study assessing the Foldscope—a low-cost origami microscope—as a diagnostic tool for schistosomiasis in Ogun State, Nigeria. Before medical school, I worked in pharmaceutical consulting after completing my bachelor’s degree in neuroscience and public health from Vanderbilt University.
