I am a postdoctoral visiting scholar at the National Institute on Drug Abuse under the mentorship of Dr. Bruce Hope. Our lab studies how memories are encoded in specific patterns of sparsely distributed neurons called neuronal ensembles. I am developing tools for high resolution mapping of neural circuit dynamics in freely behaving rodents using a combination of GRIN endoscope based calcium imaging, two-photon microscopy, and transgenic rat models for cell-type and task specific viral expression of fluorescent reporter proteins.
