   Distributed systems and search!• Mentored two interns; one joined the Search Team full-time, the other pursued graduate school• Designed/implemented the algorithm that powers hot sort within search, which led to a >200% lift in CTR for trending, news-related, and sports-related queries; and this project helped to build the organizational will to power more feeds through search• Inherited a project to redo our production infra by organizing our Solr nodes into independently scalable pools using NVME storage on AWS, and took the project across the finish line; leading to better uptime while reducing hosting costs• Participated in the code review process• Participated in the on-call rotation; stomped out fires some of which I may have caused• Participated in the interview process; helped develop/test a new interview question• Won the \"Keep Reddit Real\" Golden Snoo award• Recorded a bass guitar track for Copy Pasta, Reddit\'s employee rock band
