About Rajjwal R.

Backend and distributed systems engineer with experience building large-scale cloud data platforms at AWS.I’ve worked on managed data integration services powering analytics, machine learning, and AI workloads across globally distributed infrastructure. My focus has been on designing reliable backend systems, scaling serverless architectures, and enabling secure data movement between cloud services and external platforms.I’m a self-driven technologist with a strong interest in learning and innovation, particularly at the intersection of backend engineering and applied AI. I enjoy using modern tools and thoughtful system design to simplify complex problems and ship solutions that are both scalable and operationally clear.I care deeply about reliability, observability, and building systems that remain understandable as they grow.Currently exploring backend and infrastructure roles where I can contribute to high-impact systems at scale.

At Amazon Web Services, I work on AWS Glue and Amazon AppFlow, building and scaling cloud-native data integration services that power analytics, machine learning, AI-driven use cases, data lake hydration, and operational workflows for hundreds of enterprise customers worldwide. I have contributed to the design and expansion of Glue Zero-ETL integrations, a fully managed, serverless data replication platform deployed across 16+ global AWS regions, enabling near-real-time data movement for downstream BI, ML, and AI workloads. My work focuses on owning and architecting core infrastructure using Lambda, SQS, ECS, and DynamoDB; designing scalable APIs that enable seamless integrations between AWS services and third-party SaaS platforms such as Salesforce, ServiceNow, Snowflake, and Google Sheets; and improving system observability with CloudWatch to deliver transparency, reliability, and actionable insights.Previously, I was among the early engineers who helped launch Amazon AppFlow and contributed to the design and development of the Custom Connector SDK, supporting the launch of 50+ third-party connectors that move data securely and at scale into analytics platforms, data lakes, and ML systems. I also led major serverless migrations that reduced operational costs by more than 60% and built reusable frameworks that accelerated feature delivery across teams. As part of my role, I take ownership of on-call responsibilities for high-severity incidents, drive root cause analysis, and implement long-term reliability improvements. I mentor engineers, lead design reviews, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve security, scalability, and performance, delivering reliable, globally distributed systems customers depend on for critical workloads
