Did schooling in Civil Engineering from premier Indian Institutes of Technology at Roorkee and Delhi. Joined Indian Administrative Service, the elite management cadre of Government of India in 1981. Served for 9 years in the north eastern state of Assam in various important assignments including Head of the Department position in Rural Development, and Non Conventional Energy Department.Went on a sabbatical to do MBA from University of Hull in UK. Held senior positions in Government of India for more than 15 years at New Delhi, in the Minstries of Commerce & Industry looking after International Trade and Trade Promotion activities, Member NHAI in Ministry of Road transport and Highways, and Financial Adviser in the Minstry of Chemicals & Fertilisers, covering Infrastructure and Industry sector and Secretary Department of Sports. Later on resurrected Brahmaputra Board, a river basin management Organisation covering entire NE region of India. Love challenges and bringing about change with application of relevant technology and high performance standards with innovative approach.Aware of the talent available in Government sector and how to inspire and make them achieve seemingly immpossible targets.
