With a career spanning over three decades at the intersection of professional sports and corporate leadership, I specialise in building sustainable sporting ecosystems from the grassroots to the elite level. My journey began on the cricket field, where I represented Bengal and Odisha in the Ranji Trophy and was part of five international tours representing India (1989–1991) as standby for the Indian National Team across Test and ODI formats. This foundational experience as a high-performance athlete instilled in me a deep understanding of competitive excellence, discipline, and national representation — principles that have guided my transition into impactful sports governance and administration.As the former Head of Sports at Tata Steel Ltd. and Project Director for the Odisha Naval Tata Hockey High Performance Centre, I have consistently integrated grassroots development with global performance benchmarks. I directed the establishment and operations of 32 grassroots hockey centres supporting over 3,500 trainees, creating structured pathways aligned with international standards. My leadership extended to conceptualising international exchange programs, strengthening cross-border sporting collaborations, and spearheading large-scale initiatives such as the Tata Steel Kolkata Marathon, reinforcing sport as a strategic pillar of community and corporate engagement.I am deeply committed to fostering inclusive sporting cultures while embedding data-driven governance frameworks to produce the next generation of national and international champions. My core expertise lies in High-Performance Leadership, particularly in Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD), elite talent identification, and structured progression systems. I bring a proven track record in conceptualising and executing state-of-the-art sports infrastructure projects, alongside implementing rigorous audit, compliance, and safety protocols that ensure both athlete welfare and institutional integrity.In addition, I have extensive experience in designing and operationalising strategic Public-Private Partnership models with government bodies and international federations. These collaborations have strengthened regional sports ecosystems, enhanced global engagement, and positioned sporting institutions as sustainable, high-impact platforms for excellence. My professional mission remains clear: to build resilient systems that nurture talent, elevate performance standards, and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of sport at national and international levels.
