As a facilitator at the PG Writing Hub, I am passionate about helping next-generation urban mobility and development scholars in Africa to effectively communicate their research findings to a broad audience. Our goal, with funding from Volvo Research and Educational Foundations (VREF), is to instill an international academic culture among Africa-based postgraduate candidates specializing in urban studies, planning, and development geography-related disciplines.In this specialized training program, I work to build and facilitate engagements and discussions among participants, enabling them to develop their research and communicate it effectively using premium critical thinking tools. My role includes guiding participants in curating research information within the maze of thesis writing and manuscript production for publishing in highly-ranked peer-reviewed journals. By the end of the workshop, each participant should have honed their skills to create a well-written research paper that effectively communicates their findings.During the training, participants are instructed in everything from introductions to methodology, results and discussion analysis, to advanced citation and bibliographic presentations. My duties as a facilitator are capped by ensuring that each participant leaves with the skills and knowledge to convert a given manuscript into a high-quality research paper.I take pride in working with participants from academia to the entire society, and I believe that the beauty of every research lies in its ability to communicate its findings to a broad spectrum of audiences. At the PG Writing Hub, we are committed to building the capacity of next-generation scholars in Africa to make a significant impact on urban mobility and development.
