About Rajendra Pawar
I am an Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering with over a decade of teaching and research experience, recently awarded a PhD (September 2025) from V.I.T. Pune under Savitribai Phule Pune University. My core expertise spans Tribology, Biofuels and Biolubricants Synthesis, Condition Monitoring, Kinematics of Machines, Additive Manufacturing, and Automobile Engineering.My research contributions include 15 scholarly publications (3 SCI-indexed, 11 Scopus-indexed papers, and 1 book chapter) and 7 international conference presentations. I hold a granted utility patent for a “High Traction Manual Tiller”, reflecting my commitment to practical and impactful innovation.Recognized with multiple honors, including Best Researcher Awards (R&D Cell), the Promising Young Teacher Award (ISTE), and First Prizes in the Innovative Practice League and 35th Quality Circle Competition (State Level), I have also secured Rs. 4.68 Lakh in research funding through external and internal grants.In addition to research, I’ve held several academic leadership roles such as Institute Academic Coordinator, Coordinator for Engineering Exploration and Design Projects, Additive Manufacturing Laboratory In-Charge, and AICTE-RIT Idea Lab Guru. I have successfully established five key facilities, including the Additive Manufacturing Laboratory, RIT-AICTE IDEA Lab, and Learning Studio for Engineering Exploration, emphasising experiential, activity-based, and project-based learning.I am passionate about bridging the gap between theory and practice through innovation-driven education and sustainable engineering research.
