As Head of Architecture and Product at Bhuma IT Consultancy, I lead the strategy, design, and delivery of payment platforms for banks and regulated financial institutions operating at scale. My work sits at the intersection of product vision, architecture, data, and risk—helping institutions modernise payments while remaining resilient, regulator-ready, and commercially viable in an increasingly real-time world.I define product strategy and roadmaps for large-scale, ISO 20022-based and real-time payment platforms, including GP2, translating regulatory expectations, market infrastructure requirements, and client priorities into clear, executable product direction. I focus on balancing innovation with control—ensuring platforms are scalable, explainable, and operationally robust by design, not retrofitted after delivery.A core theme of my work is data as a strategic and control asset in payments. I design data models and platforms that preserve ISO 20022 richness end-to-end, enabling explainable fraud and AML decisioning, regulatory transparency, and auditability. I work closely with risk and compliance leaders to ensure data supports decisions and outcomes—not just reporting.My experience spans real-time payments, ACH, cards, open banking, and open finance, with exposure to major global infrastructures including BACS, Faster Payments, FedNow, TCH RTP, NPA, SEPA SCT Inst, and CBPR+. I have led and advised on multiple ISO 20022 migration and coexistence programmes, with a focus on phased migration, operating model change, and data governance aligned to supervisory expectations.I also work on digital asset and tokenised payment models, including tokenised deposits and DLT-enabled settlement, advising institutions on how to integrate emerging technologies with existing rails and regulatory frameworks in a controlled and pragmatic way.With over 20 years’ experience across architecture, product leadership, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity, I bring an end-to-end, regulator-aware perspective to payments transformation. I enjoy working with executive stakeholders, regulators, and delivery teams alike—helping institutions modernise payments responsibly by turning strategy into product direction, data into insight, and innovation into sustainable, trusted outcomes.

   I have recently relocated to India and now lead Product and Architecture with an expanded remit focused on strategic and governance oversight for Bhuma IT Consultancy. In this role, I support the firm’s growth as a trusted, advisory-led partner to banks and regulated financial institutions.My focus is on long-term strategy, innovation, risk, and delivery quality, ensuring Bhuma’s work across real-time payments, ISO 20022, financial crime, and digital asset and tokenisation initiatives remains regulator-aware, commercially grounded, and operationally sound.Key Areas of Oversight and Contribution:* Strategy and Market Positioning: Guide Bhuma’s strategic direction as a vendor-neutral, regulator-aware consultancy, including the responsible adoption of digital assets, tokenised deposits, and programmable payment models.* Client and Regulatory Advisory : Act as a senior sounding board for executive stakeholders on payments transformation, operating models, data strategy, and financial crime, including emerging tokenisation use cases.* Product and Platform Governance Provide oversight of the GP2 platform, ensuring alignment with ISO 20022, real-time payment schemes, and the validation needs of both traditional and tokenised payment models.* Delivery Quality and Risk Oversight: Oversee governance, risk management, and assurance across regulated engagements, balancing innovation with resilience, explainability, and supervisory expectations.* People and Leadership: Support leadership development and succession, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and thoughtful innovation.In this role, I help ensure Bhuma scales responsibly—balancing innovation with control, digital assets with regulation, and growth with long-term trust.
