ABOUT RAJA CHAKRABORTY
I am an Associate Research Scientist at Yale University School of Medicine, with over 10 years of experience in multidisciplinary research. My mission is to understand and treat complex vascular pathologies, such as coronary artery disease and restenosis, using epigenetics, pharmacology, molecular biology, and bioinformatics approaches. In my current role, I have discovered two distinct functional roles of histone acetyltransferases in smooth muscle cell plasticity and its implications for vascular diseases. I have also performed an unbiased genome-wide screen to identify novel targets for restenosis and developed in vivo pharmacodynamic studies in mice. I have published multiple peer-reviewed articles, received an American Heart Association Postdoctoral Fellowship, and acquired certifications in PK-PD modeling, tissue transcriptomics, and pharmacokinetics. I have also collaborated with cross-functional teams and worked in a matrix environment to advance the field of cardiovascular medicine. I am passionate about applying my skills and knowledge to innovative and translational research that can improve human health and well-being.
