Responsible for the operation & routine maintenance of auxiliary engines, boilers, pumps, compressors & purifiers.carried out daily inspections of machinery & records performance parameters.assists with starting & stopping main engines & auxiliary engines are requried.maintains engine room & deck machinerys watch during their assigned shift, ensuring all machinery runs within safe parameters.monitors alarams & responds promptly to any abnormalities.records engine room logbook enteries, noting all importment events & readings.inspects & maintains fire fighting equipment in the engine room.participates in emergency drills.assists the 2nd engineer or chief engineer during major overhauls.participates in troubleshooting machinery faults.maintains records of maintenance & repairs.report any issues or abnormalities to the second engineer.the oems planned maintenance chart should be followed when performing crane maintenance.visually inspect the wire ropes & structure, look for leaks, check the levels of water & oil, etc.greasing drum bearings, sheave bearngs & other moving components in accordance with the oem greasing schedule.the anchor winches also undergo visual inspection, leak detection, daily oil level checks & other maintenance in accordance with the oem schedule.air tugs, air compressors, pneumatic heavy duty tools & workboat obm engine & lifeboat engines are all inspected, maintained & troubleshooted & repaired on a daily basis as needed.
