For as long as I can remember, I have had a deep desire to know how things work. This same drive has made me look at stocks, companies and their ecosystems with a certain scientific curiosity, a curiosity about how things work, a curiosity about understanding success - what causes it? What causes human bodies to be healthy and productive, what makes companies successful? What I found was, that, what causes success is a balance of factors. A body is healthy or a company is successful not just due to food or sales growth alone, but due to a holistic approach to optimizing body, mind and spirit, and to a combination of creating and nurturing cultures that care for its customers.As an Equity Analyst, for years, I used fundamental techniques to evaluate potential high performers believing that financial statement and industry data alone governed stock outperformance of a company. Then years of relentless central-bank liquidity artificially impacting markets drove me to look deeper into other non-fundamental factors affecting stock outperformance. In the last several years, I have proficiently applied programming, big-data analytics and powerful machine learning techniques to function as a Quantitative Analyst and Data Scientist to find and invest in stock-market outperformers. Today, I meld Equity Research Analysis with Data Science to identify successful companies for investment.I teach aspiring investors and graduate students investing techniques and equity analysis at a leading Business School. I have an engineering degree from IIT Delhi, MBA from UT Austin and data analytics from John Hopkins University.When I am not analyzing companies or the markets, I can be found chilling with my wife and three kids, meditating, doing yoga or singing a Stones or Coldplay tune and playing my guitar.
