About Raj Ranjan

I build systems that move fast, scale harder, and increasingly think for themselves. As Founding Engineering Lead for Amazon\'s Quick Commerce program (Tez), I lead a team of 15 engineers building real-time, high-velocity customer experiences across Payments, ETA, Tracking, and AI-powered Customer Service. We process 200K+ orders daily across 329 dark stores and are scaling toward 1M orders/day. Before stepping into leadership, I was the senior engineer who helped build the technical foundation this program runs on.I\'m what I\'d call an AI-native engineering manager. That means AI isn\'t a side project or an experiment for my team. It\'s embedded in how we build, debug, operate, and make decisions every day. From using LLMs to accelerate incident resolution to driving an AI Leverage initiative across Amazon\'s India Consumer Tech org, I\'m obsessed with proving (with real data, not vibes) that AI-augmented engineering teams ship better, faster, and with fewer blind spots. My technical roots run deep: distributed systems design, AWS infrastructure at scale, full-stack architecture across Python (FastAPI/Django) and Java (Spring), and real-time systems that can\'t afford to be slow. A core focus of my recent work has been applying AI to enhance post-order customer experiences, using intelligent automation and real-time insights to predict customer friction, cut resolution time, and elevate satisfaction at scale. What I care about beyond the code: team building, design thinking, and developer velocity. Great customer experiences start with great engineering systems, and great engineering systems start with teams that trust each other and move with clarity. I prototype in Figma and Canva because I believe the best engineers think like designers.I also serve as Escalation Leader across India, MENA, and US/NA marketplaces, which has taught me that the hardest engineering problems are rarely technical. They\'re coordination problems. And that\'s where humans (augmented by AI) will always matter most.Writing about engineering leadership, AI integration, and what it actually looks like to build at scale with AI as a first-class teammate. Always open to connecting with builders who are pushing the boundaries of speed, intelligence, and customer experience.Let\'s build. If you are looking for mentorship, please DM me.
