Raj Manik Goswami is an IT/OT Control Systems Engineer and automation consultant with experience supporting large-scale manufacturing environments in the food & beverage and pharmaceutical industries. He currently contributes to the Optimus automation program at Welch’s, where he works on industrial automation systems, data integration, and operational reliability initiatives.He holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Control Systems & Robotics) from California State University, Long Beach and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Priyadarshini J.L. College of Engineering.His technical background spans industrial automation and digital manufacturing systems, including PLC, SCADA, HMI, MES integration, industrial networking, and plant infrastructure systems. He has worked with technologies across the Rockwell and Siemens automation ecosystems. Raj also has academic and applied interests in robotics, mechatronics, machine learning, and emerging industrial technologies.Over the course of his career, Raj has supported automation initiatives in regulated pharmaceutical and biotechnology environments, contributing to projects such as RLT manufacturing at Novartis, and major manufacturing programs at Pfizer including the COVID-19 vaccine production expansion and Modular Aseptic Processing initiatives in Kalamazoo, Michigan. His work has involved collaborating with engineering, operations, quality, and IT teams to help deliver reliable automation solutions and support manufacturing performance.Colleagues often recognize Raj for his thoughtful communication style and his ability to identify process gaps and work collaboratively to address them. He is motivated by solving complex engineering challenges and by helping organizations use automation and data systems more effectively. He is multilingual and values cross-cultural collaboration. He also has a strong interest in STEAM education, biographies, documentaries, and emerging innovations in technology and business.Raj maintains an active lifestyle through sports and fitness activities such as soccer, strength training, golf, tennis, pickleball, and cycling. He also enjoys creative outlets including music, painting, and freestyle dancing, as well as practices like yoga and meditation that support focus and balance.
