ABOUT RAISA SHABEER

I am a Civil Engineer – Structures, at EDF – EPR Engineering, working on behalf of Alten Ltd, based in Bristol, UK. I am currently contributing to the construction of the Sizewell C Nuclear Power Plant project.Speaking a little about myself, I am a Civil Engineer with over six years of experience in designing and managing building infrastructure, bridges, rail infrastructure, and buildings across the UK, UAE, and Indian markets, offering a global perspective and innovative solutions for every project. I have working knowledge of British/Eurocodes, Indian standards, Network Rail, DMRB, and HS2 standards. I am a Graduate Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), UK, and am currently working towards my chartership.In my current role at Sizewell C, I focus on the design replication strategy for a major nuclear infrastructure project. Previously, I worked as a designer on major rail infrastructure projects, including High Speed 2 and the Transpennine Route Upgrade Project in the UK. I have experience in both preliminary and detailed designs for overbridges, underbridges, culverts, and other key rail structures.During my earlier internships and professional experiences, I was fortunate to work across a wide range of infrastructure and building projects such as the Etihad Railway Project – Package 2D (Sharjah to Fujairah) in the UAE, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (Hyderabad, India), and various villa projects in the UAE, where I applied my theoretical knowledge of civil and structural engineering in multi-disciplinary projects I have hands-on experience with structural analysis and design software packages like Midas, TEDDS, ETABS, SAFE, STAAD, and By working collaboratively with teams across all levels, I have demonstrated strong communication skills — both written and verbal — along with the ability to plan, set, and achieve goals effectively.
