About Michael Richardson

A different world cannot be built by indifferent people.I am a polymath, life-long learner, traveled, avid reader (Audible Master, 1m28d22h total over 150+ titles covering Ayne Rand to Studies on Buddhism), I fly (gliders, real and RC as well as ParaMotor), play with photography and music, love wheels and wings more than technology, sleep in a hammock, am a Google Glass Explorer, was a Waymo Early Rider, owned/ran alldroid.org (was the first Android hacking site), have been to Google I/O multiple times, Oculus Connect multiple times (discussed vantage.tv accomplishments on stage by Oculus CTO John Carmack then later mentioned in his keynote), have worked with DTS on immersive audio in VR, Sony with their FS7 camera as they were embracing our productions. I’ve even spent an hour photographing Slash with true VIP access.All that is to say that I\'ve been very fortunate in life. I credit some part of that to my willingness to experience discomfort and put myself out there. That has led to less-desirable consequences as well though; largely in the form of injuries and surgeries, but those have offered even more perspective and given me even more insight and empathy.My weekends belong to my family, often on Scout campouts/events, working around the yard/house, or furthering my current passion-project (a combination of horticulture, electronics, and software that may become a project in the future.)Aside from my children and parenting, I’m happiest when flying (my paramotor is my escape ), but I’ve found it in running and cycling too. I have a deep interest and passion in music as well, but there are too few hours in the day to fully embrace my interests and my life demonstrates that my priorities are continuing my education of the universe around me, so I might see patterns and solutions the world needs, then to try and help where the universe gives me opportunities to do so.

   I work as part of a small team with both Peraton and S.I.P.C. staff, supporting S.I.P.C.(Portal and eMMS) by contributing bug fixes, new features, performance improvements, and architectural changes. I leverage a range of technologies- Software Development: Implement bug fixes, new features, and performance improvements for.NET Core 3.x applications on Azure- Frontend Development: Utilize Vue.js 2.x and Razor to build responsive, user-friendly interfaces that meet S.I.P.C.’s requirements- Database Integration: Work with both LINQ and raw SQL, contributing Entity Framework code, migrations, and SQL, always keeping scalability and performance in mind- Testing Focus: Consistently write unit (NUnit) and UI (Playwright) tests for new work, changes, and existing codebases to ensure quality and reliability- Agile Methodology: Participate in daily standups and contribute to sprint planning as part of an Agile team. I collaborate with teammates to discuss issues, share knowledge, pair program, and provide help and input as needed.
