About Rain Wilson
Rain is a prime example of the power of persistence and determination. Having struggled through many undiagnosed neurological impairments and challenges on a 26-year journey through the community college system in two states, she finally earned an Associates in Arts and Sciences from Bellevue College with gold cord honors in June 2016. In August of the same year, Rain was admitted to the University of Washington. In December 2016, she was diagnosed with a Traumatic Brain Injury and its corresponding cognitive impairments sustained from a family automobile collision that occurred in mid-1976.Rain also embodies the very core of diversity and inclusion and diligently served the University of Washington community in the equitably transformative Campus Climate Survey process from its inception during Spring quarter in 2019 until the end of Spring quarter 2022. In addition, she actively continues to serve the University of Washington Disability community in both the UW Tacoma Disability Resources for Students Student Advisory Board and the Tri-Campus Disability, Access, and Inclusion Advisory Group.Living with her TBI for over 47 years, Rain has openly embraced her neurodivergent identity and has resourcefully developed efficient, self-accommodating skills and strategies. In doing so, she has enabled herself to actively and successfully pursue a Bachelor\'s level degree in Mathematics, undeterred by her numerous neurological and chronic illness challenges.
