About Raunak Roy
I’ve always lived in two worlds at once.In one, I read, write, and breathe literature. I have written numerous poems, each one an attempt to understand myself and the complexity of human nature. Literature grounds me. Words sharpen me. I find rhymes everywhere, more so in silence. In the other, I move through mathematics and economics with equal fascination for both. I like the clean honesty of numbers and the way models reveal the hidden structure beneath human behavior. I enjoy the balance between intuition and rigor, between seeing patterns and proving them.Somewhere between these two worlds is the person I am building: someone who wants to analyze data with the precision of an econometrician and write about it with the clarity of a storyteller. Someone who wants to do research, understand policy, and make sense of the narratives behind the numbers. And then there’s fitness, a certain lifestyle which does not clash with the first two at all. There is something entrancing about the gym: the fact that some weights move easily in your hands, while others refuse to budge. It’s a quiet commentary on life. There are burdens you can shoulder now, and burdens you aren’t strong enough for yet. But strength comes with time, patience, and repetition. Academics, careers and responsibilities rise in weight as we grow. The gym just makes that reality honest and visible.Right now, I’m working toward roles in data analysis, economic research, and policy-driven econometrics. Hard work and being consistent has brought me success but there is more to me. I am obsessed with my field of study, with learning more today than I knew yesterday. People talk about hard work and consistency but believe me, obsession is much more potent source for ambition. It is obsession that keeps one awake, making you curious and preventing you from settling for less. And because I’m a writer at heart, I do not just want to learn; I want to teach. I want to turn research into clarity, findings into stories, and knowledge into something that actually helps people understand their world a little better.
