About Rahul Upadhyay
Alumni relations, for me, is about turning a shared past into a shared future. With 6+ years of experience in higher education in India, I’ve worked on building alumni programmes that are strategic, data-informed, and deeply human, balancing numbers, narratives, and long-term relationships.Over the years, I’ve mapped alumni pathways after graduation, designed and delivered high-impact events (from reunions and Weekenders to mentorship programmes), and helped build global alumni networks that stay meaningfully connected to their institution. My work has also included setting up and supporting alumni governance structures, launching fundraising and scholarship initiatives, and running career services and job boards that create real opportunities for graduates.I enjoy working at the intersection of strategy and execution, collaborating with leadership, faculty, students, alumni, and donors to co-create initiatives that feel relevant and inclusive. Whether it’s a campaign, an event, or a new digital tool, my focus is on designing experiences where alumni feel seen, valued, and invited to engage.Areas of focus: alumni relations and engagement, career services, governance and councils, fundraising and stewardship, stakeholder and donor management, events and programmes, digital platforms, and storytelling-driven communications.
