About Rahul Srinivasan

Rahul Srinivasan is a senior energy and climate professional with extensive international experience across Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, East Asia, and the Americas. His work focuses on advancing renewable energy, energy access, and cross-sector solutions that strengthen development outcomes in high-impact sectors such as agriculture, health, water, digital infrastructure, and education.Rahul currently consults with the World Bank’s Mission 300 Hub, where he supports cross-sectoral collaboration to accelerate energy access and productive uses of energy across Sub-Saharan Africa.Previously at the World Bank, Rahul co-managed the global Efficient, Clean Cooling Program under the Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP). His work focused on climate-friendly cold chains supporting vaccine delivery, food security, and urban resilience. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he served on the World Bank’s Global Vaccine Delivery Taskforce, supporting deployment of sustainable health infrastructure—including cold chains—to enable vaccine distribution in low-income countries.His work at the World Bank has also included initiatives on energy access and regional power trade in Eastern and Southern Africa, geothermal energy development in Latin America and the Caribbean, and climate resilience.Prior to the World Bank, Rahul worked with Sustainable Energy for All, a United Nations–hosted organization, where he managed global partnerships and programs at the intersection of energy and development sectors such as health, education, and agriculture. Earlier in his career, he worked in private-sector energy consulting as a Senior Engineer and Client Manager across technologies including wind, solar, natural gas, and nuclear.Rahul holds a Master in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School, where he served as a Teaching Fellow in Energy Policy and Markets and received the Don K. Price Award for academic excellence and impact on the Harvard community.He is a frequent speaker on energy access, climate-development linkages, sustainability, and leadership, and has presented at global forums including the United Nations General Assembly, World Health Assembly, and leading universities such as Harvard Business School and Wharton.
