About Rahul Vichare
I am currently working as the Assistant Production Manager at the CEMEX Demopolis Cement plant. I have graduated with a Master of Science (M.S) in Chemical Engineering degree from Carnegie Mellon University. I have worked under the guidance of Prof. Dr. B. Erik Ydstie and my area of specialization focuses on Process Systems Engineering (Process Control and Optimization of Chemical Engineering Processes).Before taking over the responsibilities as the Assistant Production Manager at Demopolis, I worked as the Raw Materials and Calcination Superintendent at CEMEX Demopolis Cement Plant, Coordinador de Producción at CEMEX Mexico, Cement & Shipping Superintendent at CEMEX Brooksville South Cement Plant and as a Corporate Process Engineer at the CEMEX Houston headquarters. I also hold a Bachelor\'s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Mumbai and a previous internship experience in Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, Mumbai and NOCIL Limited, Navi Mumbai.My master\'s thesis involved developing a machine learning based Model Predictive Control (MPC) control system for a mathematical process model. I formulated an algorithm for implementing the Adaptive Model Predictive Control Law which was effective in maintaining the process output of an industrial system at the set point and thereby achieving higher levels of sustained plant performance. I was awarded Parnika Andrew Carnegie Society (ACS) Legacy Fellowship for my research work in Chemical Engineering.
