Designed discrete airborne 100W, 28V to 12V Active clamp forward converter for Cabin Networks and Displays electronic units. Outperformed all other air borne COTS modules available in the market with the following outcomes.1. Achieved 95% peak efficiency at around 50W load.2. Reduced the total power supply BOM cost by one third.3. Reduced the weight of the power supply by half.Designed discrete airborne AC to DC Converter for the following specifications 100W, 90Vac to 180Vac, 12V output with hold up time of 200msec. The discrete design is done to replace the airborne COTS module. The design was done with Active front end PFC with high efficient HB LLC topology with following outcomes.1. Achieved 91% efficiency at full load.2. Reduced the hold up capacitor value compared to the COTS power supply.3. Achieved >0.9pf from 15W load by using RL EMI filter damping technique.4. Complying to DO-160G harmonic limits till 50th order.5. Ac input side capacitance not greater than 0.5uF5. Design includes two patent ideas on Active discharge circuit and Active Inrush limiting circuit.Published research paper on how to calculate DM noise when line frequency and switching frequency is involved in the input current1. Proposed an Analytical model of input current by using 2D Fourier series.2. DM mode noise prediction for the noises falling under 150kHz CE spectrum as per DO160G.Performed qualification for Boeing 787, 747 and Cabin Networks and Display products ( Power quality, CE, RE, Thermal, RET, Vibration)
