About Raghu Varier
A flexible pipe and dynamic analysis engineer at TechnipFMC, currently leading multiple projects with demonstrated experience in delivering predictable execution of cross section and End -Fitting design, dynamic analyses, tie-in analysis, Slug analysis, crossing analysis, VIV analysis, FLIP study and product deviation impact assessment of SURFs. I collaborate with various business units to deliver projects maintaining highest levels of quality and high client satisfaction. As a part of driving change, I am collaborating with Environmental Director, various HSEs, Product Managers etc to develop tools that enable sustainable decision-making during the entire iEPCI stage to implement effective Decarbonisation strategies. Supplementing this, I am involved in user feedback workgroups to improve inhouse tool capabilities and performance. I have been a Systems Engineer at TCS for 2 years, wherein I delivered design nomenclature and product configurations through Enovia PLM - SAP - PDM systems maintaining close to 100% OTD. I am a silver medalist in M.Tech Ocean Engineering and Naval Architecture from IIT Kharagpur. My thesis involved Study of various trimaran configurations and a behavioural assessment of viscous pressure resistance component due to hull-hull interaction using Shipflow CFD. My favourite areas are hydrodynamics especially numerical modelling using BEMs, ship stability and resistance, seakeeping and hydroelasticity. I graduated in Mechanical engineering from University of Mumbai where I was the co-founder and Baja team leader for Team Turbocrafters. That gave me the opportunity to develop skill in ANSYS FEA and project management.
