   Attack-resistant Crypto Hardware: Principal investigator of research on physical attack-resistant private and public-key encryption algorithms. Major works include: 1. Developed low overhead side-channel and fault-attack resistant crypto hardware prototypes in advanced CMOS processes, resulting in high-impact technology transfers. Filed 15+ patents as lead author on crypto hardware and published the research in reputed conferences and journals. Supervised multiple interns directly on various topics of hardware security. Deep Learning Hardware: 1. Collaborated with a research team to formulate solutions for reducing memory access in a 3D stacked FPGA and compute die for AI applications, resulting in 25 U.S patents. Conceptualized a hash-based neural network compression to enable 128x model size reduction and 50x lower DRAM access for neural networks and developed a 10nm ASIC/FPGA prototype. Prototyped a 10nm brain-inspired Neuromorphic processor with on-chip learning for speech recognition with 19x lower energy and 16x memory footprint reduction. Developed an end-to-end object recognition system and demo with seamless integration of a 10nm machine learning ASIC and Altera’s Stratix FPGA for rapid programming.
