EY (Ernst & Young) is one of the largest professional services firms, offering assurance, consulting, strategy and transactions, and tax services. At EY, I am working on a strategy and research-driven project focused on benchmarking the capabilities of Global Capability Centers (GCCs) in the engineering space. I am analyzing how leading oil & gas companies are structuring their GCCs and identifying areas where EY’s Engineering Center of Excellence is able to differentiate and grow its impact.I am currently developing a benchmarking framework to compare peer companies based on factors such as services offered, geographic footprint, delivery models, and digital maturity. I am also mapping talent and functional roles by analyzing job portals, organizational structures, and company reports, while building dashboards in Excel to track hiring trends across key engineering domains.As part of the analysis, I am evaluating how companies are using tools like SAP, Aveva, Maximo, and OSIsoft PI, and identifying the presence of digital capabilities such as AI, machine learning, and digital twins. I am translating these insights into a comparative scorecard and strategic slides that highlight opportunities for EY to stand out in the market.The project also involves synthesizing findings into a client-ready deck, creating an Excel-based model, and preparing a walkthrough presentation. Through this experience, I am strengthening my skills in data analysis and market research, while gaining hands-on exposure to how engineering-focused consulting projects are structured and delivered.
