Design and develop actuator and valve assemblies from concept to production, including 3D modeling, detailed drawings, and engineering documentation using PTC Creo.•Apply GD & T (ISO 1101) and general tolerance standards (ISO 2768) to ensure dimensional accuracy, manufacturability, and functional performance.•Perform tolerance stack-up and deviation analysis to evaluate dimensional variation and ensure assembly robustness.•Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews to optimize production efficiency, reduce cost, and simplify assembly processes.•Design plastic injection molded components, considering mold flow behavior, shrinkage, draft angles, ribbing, wall thickness optimization, and tooling constraints.•Lead material selection and specification for mechanical components based on: •Mechanical strength and fatigue resistance •Corrosion resistance and environmental exposure •Chemical compatibility with fluids and lubricants •Wear resistance and friction characteristics •Manufacturability and cost optimization •Evaluate and select engineering materials such as: •Thermoplastics for injection molded components •Metals for structural and load-bearing components •Elastomers and sealing materials for environmental protection and sealing performance•Ensure product compliance with IP protection ratings (IP54/IP66) and NEMA enclosure standards for dust, moisture, and environmental protection.•Support prototype development and mechanical validation testing, including fit, function, durability, and environmental tests.•Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, testing, and supplier engineering teams to resolve design issues and improve product reliability.•Manage engineering data and product revisions using Windchill (PDM/PLM).•Produce technical documentation, labeling, and product identification graphics using Adobe Illustrator.•Participate in design review, root cause analysis, and continuous product improvement initiatives.
