ABOUT RAFFAELLO TORTORA

I am a senior Advisor addicted to problem-solving. I hold 38 years of Management and Advisory experience in many sectors: Public Utilities, Waste Recycling, Energy, Infrastructure and Industry (Chemical, Petrochemical, Oil & gas, Agroindustry, Pharma, Textile, Manufacturing and many more).I am the founder and Managing Partner of BEN, a boutique that provides Public Utilities, Governmental Bodies, Investment Funds and industrial firms with services including strategic planning, business development, assistance in complex deals, market analysis & research, feasibility studies, M&A transaction services and project control.I previously was Director of Sales of an Engineering & Contracting division of ABB, where I contributed to a major growth of the business, serving the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Steel, Cement, and Infrastructure sectors, with focus on Africa, Middle East, the Americas, and Europe.I started my career in the Montedison Group (Tecnimont) as Process Engineer, Project Manager and Proposal Manager in a variety of sectors (Chemical, Petrochemical, Environment, Infrastructure, Agroindustry, Pharma, and Textile), with focus on Europe, the Middle East, and China. In parallel, thanks to my skills in Information Technology, I vested the role of promoter of new work procedures in the Operation Division.I also served as a member of the board of Modatex S.p.A.(textile) and Bitolea S.p.A.(waste recycling).I graduated with honors in Chemical Engineering and carried out studies in Economics, Project Finance, International Law, and Marketing. I am a qualified consultant of the Courts of Milan, a member of the Italian Association of Engineers and of the Italian Association for International Organization. I am devoted to research and author of several publications. I have cooperated with SDA, the Business School of the Bocconi University in Milan.I recently founded Spazio Atlantide, a space where experts and executives can meet to develop ideas and solutions while sailing: focus is on steering the business in harsh times.
