Responsible for the completion of the examination work associated with Scene of Crime (SOC) Laboratory submissions and any associated tasks ensuring a high throughput of such work in the laboratory. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:• Adhere to all aspects of the customer Operational Protocol, GLP and EFS Quality Manual• Carry out necessary examinations/analysis as per standard operating procedures to required timescales• Be responsible for the integrity and continuity of exhibits, including their return while under ownership as per examination instructions• Assist in daily lab space and workflow management• Communicate examination progress with the Workflow Supervisor and escalate any issues that may arise• Communicate with Workflow Supervisor and/or Line Manager with regards to progress of non-casework tasks• Assist with aspects of Science and Quality that fall within the skills of the individual. • Responsibility for individual daily time booking on the relevant system. • Seek continual improvement of methodology and processes that will have a positive impact on quality and effectiveness. Raise ideas at team meetings and huddles• Assisting with returns to customer

ABOUT RAFFAELLA RODIGHIERO
BSc (Honours) Sport and Exercise Science (First class pass) graduate (Liverpool, UK). Was a PhD candidate/ researcher in Health and Exercise Physiology, having researched the vascular biomolecular mechanisms associated with type 2 diabetes and associated with cardiovascular disease. Also, a BComm (Economics and Management) graduate from Rhodes University in South Africa. Currently a Forensics Scientist, doing my part for the UK Criminal Justice System. It\'s been good to get back to my laboratory roots and work in a busy, fast-paced lab. A lab where attention to detail is paramount, while having the ability to work efficiently, communicate open and honestly about any issues that arise, excellent team-work, and work hard towards achieving personal and team targets - something which again is critical for the CJS workflow. I love everything about sport.watching it, supporting it,(used to) playing it. I have a love of coaching kids but, admittedly, have not done that in long while due to work commitments. I also am normally avid about keeping fit and am working towards achieving my former glory there too and maybe do a few more half marathons!
