ABOUT RALPH A. FERGUSON
I am an accomplished Medical Affairs leader excelling in directing cross-functional teams in the execution of advanced internal and external expert engagement models in Specialty Care (Inflammation, Immunology, Cardiovascular, Neurology and Oncology) and providing opportunities for team members to grow and succeed. Over the past 5 years, I have successfully led the incorporation of numerous advanced digital analytics platforms to create a truly individualized external stakeholder experience for our scientific engagements. Through this novel customer- and patient- focused engagement, my teams and I have continuously improved our stakeholder satisfaction with our Medical Affairs function as demonstrated by year over year improvement in our industry ranking by independent market research. Equally important, and not to be lost in the digital transformation and the opportunities it provides, is the fundamental value of person-to-person medical and scientific exchange. The importance of acquiring, generating, translating, and relating clinical evidence through industry-sponsored, investigator- initiated, out of scope, real world, and special access programs cannot be overstated. I have led both internal and external stakeholder teams on the delivery of over 250 such programs. The evidence provided by these activities has been critical in informing regulatory, re-imbursement, health technology assessment, formulary, practitioner, patient and allied health stakeholders in advancing our shared goal of fulfilling unmet medical need.
