ABOUT RAFEEQ MOHAMMED

I Watched a Building Rise. That Day, My Career Did Too.As a child, I stood wide-eyed near construction sites, mesmerized by high-rises growing floor by floor. The steel beams, the organized chaos, the precision it felt like magic. I didn’t know it was called civil engineering back then, but I knew I wanted to be one of the people who made that magic real.Later, I learned that civil means \"of the people\" and I understood that this field is about more than concrete and calculations. It’s about building the spaces and systems that connect communities, improve lives, and last for generations. Now, as a Master’s graduate from the University of Dayton and a Civil Engineer at IDOT, I bring that same curiosity and commitment to every project I work on. To stay connected to the industry and latest standards, I am an active member of IAHE, IAACE, ISPE, and ASCE.What I Bring• Construction planning, quantity estimation, and scheduling using MS Project and Excel• Slope stability analysis (EnSlope), anchored wall systems (PYWALL), soil-nailed slope modeling (PLAXIS)• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, GIS, and Total Station• Certified in OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety• Strong background in traffic engineering, signal design, and intersection controlProjects That Shaped Me• Recreated a published slope stability case using EnSlope• Designed an anchored retaining wall with three tiebacks under staged loading using PYWALL• Estimated a solar-powered green building using sustainable materials and smart layout principles• Developed a traffic signal design applying real-world flow pattern analysisI’m eager to contribute, grow, and help build systems that don’t just stand tall but stand for something.Let’s connect — and build something meaningful together.
