I am a materials engineer with extensive industrial and academic research-related experience, currently contributing to maintaining quality standards and managing the peer review process of different Mitacs programs, in particular leading the expedited review of small applications. Current topics of interest include evidence-based decisions to improve the peer-review process, and the implications of generative AI use in research and proposal preparation- My previous research experiences include the design, development, fabrication and characterization of sustainable advanced multiphase materials (polymers, biopolymers, nanocomposites, membranes, fibers), the investigation of polymer degradation into microplastics, and the used of sustainable materials and methods to remove emerging contaminants in water treatment- Extensive experience with process data analysis and in communicating (English, French and Portuguese) with different audiences through writing and presentations (industrial and academic international conferences, scientific publications, scholarship and grant applications, client presentation and reports); Teaching experience as an Instructor and Teaching Assistant.
