ABOUT RAFAEL DRELICH

Rafael is a designer, senior FX Artist and educator based in Toronto, specializing in digital simulations and procedural solutions for visual effects and games. Master’s of Digital Media at Toronto Metropolitan University, his research explored computer graphics and generative AI integration through Houdini and ComfyUI workflows. His research thesis called “CG-AI: How generative AI is reshaping digital media and artists practices” was presented at Siggraph Asia 2025 in the courses stream, featuring theorical framework and live demo of the CG-AI pipeline.Previously worked at SideFX, WeFX, Pixomondo, and Mr. X on high-profile film and TV projects. Holds a Bachelor\'s in Design from PUC-Rio and Postgraduate in Visual Effects from George Brown College. Currently an Instructor at Seneca Polytechnic and Humber polytechnic teaching GenAi for Designers with ComfyUI, procedural thinking for games and visual effects using Houdini.Believes that a collaborative mindset,rapid prototyping and iterative processes can solve any creative challenge.
