About Rafael Misoczki
I am a Cryptographer at Meta focused on post-quantum cryptography (PQC) and conventional cryptography, and the application of these primitives to various use cases.Previously, I was a Cryptographer at Google, maintainer of Google’s cryptography library Tink (https://github.com/google/tink), lead for storage encryption projects, member of the ISE-Crypto team (responsible for reviewing and approving the usage of cryptography in any products and infrastructure at Alphabet), and member of the PQC workgroup (responsible for the migration of the company to post quantum cryptography).Prior to that, I was a Research Scientist (cryptography) at Intel Labs, where I created Intel’s cryptography library TinyCrypt (http://01.org/tinycrypt), and led the post quantum cryptography agenda for the company. 40+ US patents filed, 20+ scientific papers published, and citations. I’m also an active contributor to international standardization efforts on cryptography- Co-author of the HQC crypto system recently selected by NIST as doe post-quantum cryptography standardization- Co-author of BIKE and Classic McEliece, two other finalist candidates in the NIST PQC Standardization process- Editor of ISO/IEC standard on post quantum digital signatures- Member of the USA delegation in ISO/IEC for cryptography- Expert member of INCITSI received my PhD degree from Sorbonne Universités (University of Paris - Pierre et Marie Curie), France, in 2013, with a thesis on efficient constructions for post-quantum cryptography. I’m a regular reviewer for important journals and conferences on information security and cryptography.
