Lead the operations in the meltshop from the scrap yard to the continuous caster machine. • Drive a culture of Zero LTA in the meltshop and lead operations areas to create a safe work environment for the employees. • Manage, coach, and lead a team of shift managers and their teams. • Contribute to developing action plans for improvement and sustainability projects in the meltshop aligned with the company’s goals. Support the usage of quality tools (PDCA, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacture, benchmark) and lead the team of hourly and salary employees to accomplish a reduction in the conversion cost. Review the use of optimization tools to develop scrap usage recipes pursuing lower cost and process optimization. • Empower the team to make their own decisions based on facts and data. Communicate the company goals to employees during face-to-face meetings and engage employees with the company’s culture. • Participate in the recruitment process of engineers and support career development. • Develop matrix training for new employees (leaders and hourly) focused on technical knowledge. • Identify opportunities for Capital Expenditures investment in the meltshop area. • Responsible for the operational budget planning and projects to improve results in the meltshop.
