Working as a Software Developer on a product focused on online gaming. This product supports all the main US lotteries and more than a hundred online games. The product is based on Rest architecture, using technologies like Java, JUnit, Hibernate, Apache Camel, JMS, Hornet Q, Spring, IBM DB2 DB, JBOSS, and others.• Lead the optimization of two key features in the system: game history and vouchers redemption.• Game History Optimization:The game history functionality was experiencing a 95% failure rate in requests due to timeouts, with all issues pointing to a bottleneck in the application. To address this, I improved the logs and queries, created a new endpoint without using Hibernate, and collected thread dumps. We identified that the database was the critical point. Based on this, I suggested implementing new indexes and table partitioning, resulting in a 99.9% success rate.• Voucher Redemption Issue:The problem was related to a front-end design flaw. Whenever a user entered the page to add a voucher, all the vouchers from that user\'s history were loaded beforehand, which caused timeouts and prevented the user from redeeming the voucher. To improve this, I implemented a solution where only the necessary voucher data was loaded dynamically when required, rather than preloading all historical data. This reduced the page load time, eliminated the timeouts, and allowed users to redeem vouchers without interruptions.
