About Raevin Johnson

At 14, I decided that technology and business marketing were my top choices for careers post-undergrad. I declared to many that I would double major in the two before being selected as a 5 Strong Scholar in 2018, where I was offered a scholarship that covered exactly eight semesters of tuition. This realization resulted in my decision to major in Computer Science with a concentration in Cybersecurity to accomplish my biggest dream of getting a degree debt-free! After my matriculation to Alabama A&M University, I sought out business-related and soft skill-focused opportunities to expand my skill set in my other interests and professional development while I built my technical acumen in the classroom. In 2019, I met Eli Lilly and Company at the Grace Hopper Celebration Conference and received a summer internship offer within Tech@Lilly. After earning my first ever internship opportunity, I completed frontend development for the Digital Office organization remotely in 2020 including coding in HTML/CSS, implementing API libraries, visualizing and contextualizing mobile app data for stakeholders, and testing mobile applications for bugs. In 2021, I was elated to return for a second internship in the Business Units learning about and evaluating tools used for social media marketing, search engine marketing & optimization, and providing recommendations based on business requirements.After graduating in 2022, I joined the organization full time as a Business Units Analyst in Social Media Technology. In my current role, I have been able to combine my passion for business and technology by supporting global social media initiatives to increase brand and disease awareness.Luckily, I’ve been able to connect with Indy’s community in ways I always hoped for. I enjoy volunteering with BDPA Indy, where I facilitate professional development sessions for minority students learning foundational technology skills throughout the year. Also, Tech@Lilly has empowered me to pour back into the intern program by allowing me to coordinate an annual organization-wide carnival for our interns to network and learn about the many opportunities offered.

   Supporting Lilly’s International Business Units consisting of 120+ countries to execute social media initiatives to increase brand and disease awareness worldwide. Research, develop, test, and launch social media accounts on platforms requested by business stakeholders. Responsible for configuring social media impersonation tool to monitor and takedown fraudulent sellers and brand impersonators. Collaborate with vendors, developers, and internal cross-functional teams to lead technical implementation and maintenance troubleshooting issues related to social media campaigns, data management, API connections, and more. Active volunteer for student development and company-wide programming including Lilly\'s annual Juneteenth celebration, HBCU Day, Career Planning Conference, and Tech@Lilly recruiting.
