ABOUT RACHEL JOHNSTON
I\'ve been a technical writer for my whole career and I\'m comfortable working with engineers, product managers and UX designers. I\'ve written content in lots of different domains, from healthcare and education to back office enterprise applications. I lead a content design team at dunnhumby, and we work as part of the UX team to help users get the most out of sophisticated big data solutions. Like a lot of content teams, our work has changed from writing big PDFs to perfecting on-screen content and providing help at the point of need. We craft button labels, error messages, empty states, tooltips, and product tours as well as longer-form help centres and glossaries. Specialties: UX writing, technical writing, content strategy, DITA XML, information design, user advocacy, usability testing.
