About John Munson

I\'ve been a broadcaster and stage performer since 1956 (I was 3 years old). I am an actor, singer, after dinner speaker, master of ceremonies, and storyteller. I have taught university-level courses at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, the University of Wisconsin-Superior, and Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College. My research on improving student performance through the use of video feedback was presented to the Speech Association of Minnesota. I have been a talent trainer for public radio stations in the context of on-air fundraising (\"pledge drives\") for more than a decade. I have worked with non-profits, government agencies, and political candidates on media policies and plans. I have been recognized in my community and within the University for both my public service and the excellence of my work. I have been a talk show host, award-winning sports broadcaster, newscaster, disc jockey, and pretty much everything else you can do in a radio station. In my spare time, I direct radio plays. I also have broad experience in political advocacy and grassroots activism.    I manage a cluster of stations for Wisconsin Public Radio from offices in Superior, Wisconsin. I represent WPR in NW Wisconsin and NE Minnesota. I am responsible for local programming on KUWS-FM, WHSA-FM, and WUWS-FM.
