About Radek Lopusnik
Technical expert with direct on-hand experience in many product life cycle phases, including R&D, Product Development, Quality, and Manufacturing. I can zoom out to see a big picture and create realistic plans and strategies and then zoom in to focus on implementation and making things happen. I have built/managed teams in the departments that underperformed when I joined and that are now evaluated as the best teams within company. I lead by examples. I use variety of management styles to achieve the best results. I can be hands-on and \"be in trenches with the team\". I\'ve like working in interdisciplinary areas; tackling problems that no one has looked into and leveraging solutions from one field to another. I have the ability to see connections between fields. I have expert knowledge in many engineering fields (system, computer, electrical, and mechanical engineering) and applied/instrumentation physics (materials research, magnetism, optics and photonics (including laser applications), rf and microwaves). In my career I have built multiple measurement/test systems from a basic concept to demonstrating the functionality (prototype). I designed experiments to optimize the performance. I am an expert in large data analysis and business process improvements. I have a passion for exploring unexplored, solving technical problems, and learning new things to help and educate others. I am an applied physics/engineering professional. I have worked as a researcher in academia and at NIST, a national lab; I was a professor at a university; I worked in the R&D department of a major international corporation; and I worked in a small start-up company assisting in building a new manufacturing plant. I have been involved with professional societies (chairing and starting new chapters) as well as with interest organizations (helped to organize national convention for people). I consistently look for opportunities to improve things, including myself. However, I highlight a problem only when I can clearly identify deficiencies and propose a possible improvement even if this is not the final solution.I enjoy working with others. I\'ve played hockey since my youth and understand team playing very well. One star can never achieve more than a team of people who trust each other and who work toward the same goal. I am also an ultramarathon runner, so I know that sometimes it takes perseverance and going through highs and lows to reach the finish line. We spend about 1/3 of our lives at work, so colleagues are our second family - let\'s make it a great time.
