About Racquel Martin
A proud native of Memphis, Tennessee, I am an employment attorney in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Every day I use my analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills to manage employment litigation involving harassment, discrimination, and retaliation and wage and hour issues across the U.S. I also support HR Business Partners in addressing employment-related concerns (e.g, performance management, policy violations, terminations, leaves of absence, restructures, separation, training, audits, etc.) and drafting, assessing, and implementing employment policies, handbooks, and agreements. I aid Compliance and Ethics Partners in conducting workplace investigations and routinely educate and advise internal clients on new developments in local, state, and federal employment laws, including the California Labor Code, California Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA), California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), California Family Rights Act (CFRA), Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title VII, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). When I\'m not working, you can usually find me making memories with my partner and daughter, bouncing around cities to visit loved ones or see my favorite artists in concert, or flying overseas to explore new cultures. I also enjoy curling up with a good novel and binge-watching the latest TV drama. With a passion for racial justice, diversity, equity & inclusion, and education, I spend much of my time mentoring youth and young adults throughout my community. In the future, I hope to lead a non-profit organization that focuses on the academic, personal, and professional development of high school students of color in inner-cities.
