About Rachit T.

All it takes is three words to give you an identity crisis – Who are you? For the sake of this bio, let me try!My name is Rachit, “a jack of all trades, master of none; though often better than a master of one”. I don’t claim any particular interest because I see many problems in society & \"problems have no disciplinary boundaries\"(Karl Popper). My curiosity spans any branch of science that helps me understand social-environmental issues and can help to develop a better version of social theories. If you still need categories, I would love to be seen as an ethnographer who is interested in the political ecology of India. As a Researcher, I study environmental issues because, why not? The damage we’ve done worries me, and I wish to leave a better world for future generations. My research is multidisciplinary, focusing on people’s relationships with the environment and the commons. While I have knowledge in quantitative methods, Remote Sensing, valuation & sustainability, my heart lies in ethnographic work. Research wisdom lies in the details & nuances that only good qualitative work can offer. Serendipity is a diamond in the treasure for researchers. However, it will take time to prove its value in the world of researchers who are busy counting everything in numbers. As an Educator, I can teach social sciences to kids. I can teach about environment and society, research methods and critical thinking to grown-ups. I can facilitate discussions on self-realization, privilege, gender, caste, inequalities, activism, and social change. All of us learn from our peers, group discussions, self-experiences and curiosity. I try to facilitate that in my teaching method. My goal is to spark essential conversations, using tools like theatrical pedagogy, films, readings, and games to make learning engaging and impactful. As a Community Organizer, I’ve been fortunate to be at the forefront of climate action campaigns, advocating for environmental and social justice. My experiences in volunteering and organizing have taught me the power of collective work and skilled me to organize people to create meaningful action.Personal Interests: I live a contented life, thanks to few loved ones, kids, sports and animals. I enjoy deep conversations on religion, politics, sexuality, money, and philosophy. Movies, books, and Sufi poetry have shaped my character.I don\'t have any dreams or aspirations because I think I am already in it. I want to contribute to making the world more justful and better for many, even if it disrupts the peace of a few.
