About Rachel Boggs
Rachel Boggs earned her doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Policy at The University of Texas at Austin. She holds a B.A. in Political Science and an M.Ed. in Elementary Education from The University of Notre Dame. Experiences as an elementary school teacher informed her perspective on the challenges communities face when increasing educational opportunities for all children. Rachel’s research interests include building positive school culture and leadership, teacher development, and the geography of educational opportunities. Her research draws on interdisciplinary perspectives to investigate how public policies and programs can be used to improve the lives of children and families. Rachel’s current work includes an analysis of early childhood education offerings across gentrifying neighborhoods in Austin and an evaluation of applicants selected into Teach for America under the current selection model.
Experience
Managing Director, Admissions Research & Design
Oct 2022 — Present
I lead research and evaluation of our admissions process and selection model to make ongoing improvements, including streamlining our admissions process and improving decision making. Additionally, I build strategy for building our admissions learning culture to ensure strong buy-in and alignment towards our talent acquisition strategy goals. I design and deliver live webinars and asynchronous training experiences for over 800 staff interviewers, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to make informed hiring decisions. By identifying gaps in staff development, I create targeted training experiences that foster professional growth and strengthen our selection process. Finally, with a strong focus on project management, I develop and execute detailed work plans, track progress, and facilitate team collaboration on pilot projects.
