About Rachel Terlop
Rachel is the author of Maggie the Moomaid and career Early Childhood educator. Passionate about helping each exceptional student achieve academic success through making use of multiple intelligences, Rachel is ABD at George Mason for a PhD in Early Childhood Special Education. Rachel earned her PhD in Transpersonal Counseling in July 2022, Masters (2017) & Bachelors (2013) in Early Childhood Education, Masters (2022) and Bachelors (2021) in Divinity. is a globally minded educator who was born in Worthington, OH, and started her educational career in Green Bay, WI. She received her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Baldwin Wallace University in 2013, and her Master of Education from Trinity Washington University in 2017. She served as an adjunct professor for Early Childhood Education courses from seven semesters after graduating while teaching in Washington, D.C. In 2019, Rachel was awarded grand prize for Henry Ford Innovation Nation Teacher of the Year and traveled to Uganda to train as an academic coach. Training was in the Bwindi school district with Limited Resource Teacher Training (LRTT). The program involved researching, modeling, sharing, and reflecting on best practices with government officials, administrators, and educators. When Rachel returned home she published her 1st children\'s book, Maggie the Moomaid, which won a Mom\'s Choice Award in June 2020 and a Family Choice Award in 2022. She joined the PhD program at George Mason for Early Childhood Special Education in 2019 and is at the all but dissertation (ABD) phase as of Summer 2023.During the pandemic, Rachel worked through her Bachelors and Masters in Divinity, along with a PhD in Transpersonal Counseling though the University of Metaphysical Sciences. In 2017, Rachel pursued her initial yoga teacher certification (RYT-200) through Breathe for Change and some course work provided motivation to continue learning. Rachel earned the title of \'Reiki Master\' in 2021 along with her RYT-500 certification. Her thesis was a hermetic self-study with tarot cards as medium.
