About Rachel Silhavy

People’s career stories have always fascinated me — how they got to where they are and where they hope to go next. That curiosity is what led me to a career in Talent Acquisition, Employee Engagement, and People Development. As a Talent Acquisition and Employee Engagement Specialist at CFG Bank, I work at the intersection of recruiting & hiring, culture, and early-career development. My role goes beyond filling positions — I focus on building systems that help people grow and organizations thrive. In my role, I partner with teams across the organization to understand their staffing needs and support hiring efforts that align with each department’s goals. I also collaborate closely with all areas of the HR team—especially benefits and core HR functions—to develop and distribute company-wide communications, ranging from informational flyers to presentations that help employees better understand programs, policies, and available resources. Some of the work I’m most proud of includes building and launching CFG Bank’s summer internship program, which has helped establish a strong early-career talent pipeline in its first official year. I also play a key role in revamping the company’s onboarding experience to better support new hires from day one.My academic background in Industrial & Organizational Psychology allows me to approach talent and culture strategically — from understanding motivation and engagement to designing systems that support employee growth. Outside of work, I serve on the Young Adult Board and Executive Committee for The Ulman Foundation, where I help engage the young professional community in supporting young adults and families navigating cancer. Long term, I’m passionate about expanding my work in Learning & Development and early career talent programs, helping organizations build environments where people can grow, connect, and do their best work.
