ABOUT RACHEL MOSTYN
My passion is supporting all women to realise their potential and find work that they love. In October 2018 I co-founded The Women\'s Work Lab which supports mums currently receiving benefits back into work via a bespoke training programme and work placement in a professional organisation. Our vision is to enable more women to access jobs in organisations that they usually wouldn’t consider, enabling them to build a career that improves theirs and their family’s future and help reduce social inequality. The Women\'s Work Lab has now supported nearly 500 women in the South West back into employment. We are incredibly proud of the recent BBC documentary showcasing our work - 2023 also saw us being crowned Jobs & Training Social Enterprise of the Year at the Social Enterprise UK Awards.I am an excellent communicator and started my career as a news reporter at The Sunday Times and then went on to work at Cosmopolitan magazine as news editor. I have also worked as a freelance writer for 10+ years and written for publications including The Guardian, Telegraph, Daily Mail, Marie Claire, Woman and Glamour. I have also regularly contributed to TV and radio as an expert on women\'s issues.I also still work freelance as a media training consultant and over the last 13 years have worked with many leading corporate, public sector and charity clients. My first hand knowledge means I can share the skills that can turn any media engagement into a positive opportunity, regardless of the circumstances.
