Through several seemingly unrelated industries, I’ve successfully built my career by keeping two goals top of mind: focus on quality and put customers first. As an editor with PR Newswire at the start of my professional life, I learned the importance of consistency, accuracy, and efficiency (as well as the benefits of the Oxford comma). I also learned that true customer service only happens through listening and problem solving, whether my customers are internal or external. These foundational qualities have been my guiding focus for the past 15 years, and as a document management professional, I have been able to bring them together in an ideal and singular way. Within every role I’ve held, my customers include my teammates, leadership, employees, external stakeholders, end users, and regulators. In both highly regulated and start-up industries, I thrive on the opportunity to build systems that meet the company, its employees, and its stakeholders where they are and elevate our collective mission through continuous improvement and ongoing advancement and training.My specialty lies in evaluating requirements for a document management program, building a maturity model and identifying ideal future state, and a minimum viable product (MVP) for immediate implementation. As an SME in ISO 9001 and 10013 document and records control, I strive to build a culture of smart and efficient documentation practices, while alleviating an excessive burden of user experience, whether it is for DMS, knowledge management, content sharing, or marketing and communications.
